Why Leica?

Photographing the inside of a yacht or boat s not unlike that of photographing the interior of a luxurious and well-appointed hotel or home. However, with yachts there are some notable exceptions which are taken into consideration by one certain digital San Diego Photographer that works as a San Diego Commercial Photographer.

Just for the sake of this article, lets break the average persons photos into three categories. First, Wonderful… you and everyone else just loves them!

Buildings provide many opportunities for the photographer to create exciting and, in many ways, unusual images of scenes that are always present but which the majority of people pass by without noticing. Sometimes it is not always possible or indeed beneficial to include a building in its entirety in a single photograph.

Getting to know your camera more is the first step in getting better at shooting better pictures. DSLRs have many similarities to the conventional film SLR, or for that matter, any film camera.

Buildings seen at night can often be far more evocative of a cityscape than they appear to be in daylight hours. Some cities, such as New York, literally throb at night and are lit for the great part by garish neon light which looks strangely fitting.

If you study travel photographs you will be surprised at how often you can recognize the country, even a particular city, by looking at the people in the shots. This may be something as obvious as a shot of a guard outside Buckingham -Palace or a portrait of someone in front of the Eiffel Tower. But other, more ordinary forms of dress can also convey location – especially when combined with architecture.

The mode dial on a modern camera usually includes a bewildering number of letters and icons. I can never remember what 90% of those modes do, and even if I did, I don’t remember to set that mode when the opportunity presents itself. Plants provide good material for the photographer. It is worth considering not only exotic plants but also more commonplace varieties. Apart from colour, texture plays an important part in a striking image.

Any accessory used while taking a photograph can enhance the final image; however, care must always be taken to ensure the images produced are effective. One of the least expensive and yet most important of accessories is a filter.

Low light, whether due to the time of day or prevailing weather conditions, does not mean that good photographs cannot be taken. It is sometimes even possible to obtain more dramatic shots in low light than in brilliant sunshine. If the weather is misty or foggy, moody pictures can be taken.
